SMALL FRY

Small Fry Basketball is a developmental, yet competitive youth basketball program available to youngsters throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. Hi-Five Sports Club consists of the Glenbrook Small Fry teams in the northern suburbs, and the CHI-TOWN Small Fry teams in the city of Chicago.

Players may be no taller than 5-foot-1 and may not be older than 12 as of Sept. 1 the year immediately prior to the competition season (January through Easter). A smaller-than-regulation basketball is used and rims are eight feet, six inches from the ground. Our programs offer both “Rookie” and ‘Varsity” teams.

Small Fry teams compete against other regional teams throughout the Chicagoland area and southern Wisconsin. At the end of each season qualifying tournaments are held in each region of the United States. Sixteen teams annually will advance to the International Tournament at the Disney Wide World of Sports Arena in Orlando, FL against the top teams in Puerto Rico.

Former Small Fry Players such as; NBA players Nick Van Exel (Kenosha, Wis.) and Kenny Anderson (New York) got their starts in Small Fry Basketball. Small Fry has also produced two NFL quarterbacks in Donovan McNabb of the Philadelphia Eagles and Mike Tomczak, formerly with the Super Bowl Champion Chicago Bears.

• Glenbrook Small Fry started in 1992

• Glenbrook Magic Varsity team competed in two final fours in the past two years in the Small Fry International tournament

• The 2007 Glenbrook Rookie team had 16-1 record on the season

• 2004 Rookie Small Fry Champions at the Kenosha Tournament

• Varsity Small Fry Consolation Bracket Champions in the Small Fry International Tournament

NOTHING BUT NET

The Nothing But Net traveling session focuses on providing tournament play for athletes who are committed to elevating their game to the next level. With an increased emphasis on training and skill development, NBN will help develop the skills players need to improve their game.

NBN training sessions, team practices and tournament play are all part of the Spring/Summer AAU season. Our squads will have a minimum of two practices each week and participate in five tournaments throughout the season. Teams will receive expert coaching from our NBN staff while competing against some of the top talent in the Midwest. Qualifying for the National AAU tournament is the goal for all age groups.
